Giovanni Gellona is an Chilean artist who has developed his talents in different and multidimensional fields; painter, photographer, dancer, designer and singer.
He began his studies as a Bachelor of Fine Arts, learning from great masters the classical and avant-garde techniques in visual arts. This led him to participate, with his portraits and illustrations, in different books that have been published in Europe and the USA such as Roger Taylor’s Marilyn in Art, and Diana in Art by Mem Mehemet. The latter led Gellona to be singled out and featured in London’s Daily Mail, La Repubblica in Italy andDantri in Vietnam.
He then began his dance studies. Among his teachers was Buddha Stretch, Michael Jackson’s former choreographer and one of the biggest names in hip hop worldwide. Giovanni worked for two years as a dancer in Chilevisión (a national television station in Chile) and was also the lead singer in different musical projects. Simultaneously, his work as a photographer and art director began. One of his muses is Chilean lyrical singer Verónica Villarroel. Another milestone in this side of Gellona’s work is his participation in the Dutch book “40 ajar, 40 verhalen, Chileense Vluchtelingen en Solidariteit”, which featured the artist’s photography. Giovanni Gellona creates and mixes the arts with a purpose that goes beyond simple conceptual development; he actually seeks to please and surprise the recipient of his work.
